Autumn Hedgehogs

I once bore witness to a Hedgehog marching across my lawn, its mission unknown. The greatest surprise at the time was just how fast its little feet took him! I have since discovered that despite their stout little bodies, hedgehogs are surprisingly agile - capable of running up to 5mph, swimming and even climbing trees according to WWF! So it was a joy to create this collage painting of a mother and hoglet, surrounded by ferns and the copper coloured leaves of Autumn.
