Daffodils and Clouded Yellows

Spring is a joyous time of the year, heralded by a beautiful array of daffodils in Devon. When I created this still life collage, I couldn’t resist adding little Clouded Yellows to it, their golden yellow upper wings edged with broad dark borders. Described as a true “whisper of Summer,” they congregate in flowery places and are one of the few breeds of butterfly able to live in modern farmed countryside. A regular visitor to Britain, I hope to spot this little beauty again in my garden!
