Helen Jones is a ceramic designer working from her studio in the heart of Exmoor, Somerset creating unique handmade decorative homewares in stoneware and porcelain.

Helen studied Art & Design at Harrow School of Art, working as a designer in London for 36 years, developing corporate branding for retail giants and designing for the music industry.

Since moving to Somerset, Helen has continued her work in design and has rekindled her passion for ceramics and found a creative outlet where she can experiment with design and different media. In her own words Helen says: “My first foray working with clay I was smitten, with sleepless nights and a head full of ideas… it quickly became my creative focus.”

As an avid collector of ceramics and textiles from the 1950s and 60s, her love of design and texture is reflected in her pieces. Helen says: “I have an endless sketchbook of ideas to apply to my ceramics. I love experimenting mixing glazes and surface pattern techniques, throwing and building shapes reminiscent of these eras.”

Her work is constantly evolving as she finds inspiration from fashion, textiles, textures and living on the edge of the dramatic landscape of the Exmoor National Park.
