Little Owl

With piercing yellow eyes, mottled brown and cream feathers, Little Owl lives up to its name, standing at only 20cm in height. I made the mistake of painting him first, with the branches and leaves growing around him for this collage. It meant his eyes stared back at me throughout this creation - his meaningful glare ensuring no leaf was misplaced! I love Little Owl’s attitude in this piece and have grown very fond of him! With a soft Wintery colour palette, this collage painting embraces the quieter season in the UK when little owls perch motionless in trees waiting to spot its prey before swooping.
