“Mrs Fox”

Deep amongst the tangle of thistles, blackberries and ferns, Mrs Fox stops a while to rest. It’s a warm Autumnal day on Exmoor, leaves are turning, and fruits of the season are ripening in the golden light. Her cubs have nearly grown, her family will soon disperse. So, it is a time to be quiet, to bathe in the sunshine before she returns to her den.

Living in the Devon countryside means I am lucky enough to hear the foxes at night, especially during the mating season in January and February. Although it has to be said my hens are not so keen to hear them for good reason! Inspired by the beautiful rich colours of Autumn, I wanted to compliment Mrs Fox and surround her with the bounty this incredible season brings.
