Sarah Cooling
Sarah is an artist who is inspired by translucency and uses porcelain on the wheel to create fragile and delicate works that narrate how nature touches us and reminds us of our symbiotic interconnectedness to the landscape.
working from her studio at Krowli in Cornwall she endeavours to create forms that evoke a sense of curiosity, not only with form specifically but also with finishes by using the textured surfaces, layered slips, glazes and oxides that create metallic accents. Often fired several times in oxidation, she adds additional layers between each firing to create a sense of timelessness, stillness and presence.
Sarah’s delicate works have been showcased in galleries throughout Cornwall and Devon and have been exhibited several times at the RBSA in Birmingham and Penwith Gallery in St. Ives.
